View the change history of a service

View the changes made to a service. Change history is useful for maintenance, planning, or troubleshooting procedures.

Before you begin

Role required: Responder, Manager, or Administrator

You must have the ServiceNow sn_change_read role.

About this task

A service can be created in Incident Response. If you integrate Incident Response with ServiceNow, you can also import services from ServiceNow enterprise instance. Services imported from ServiceNow enterprise instance will have change history associated with them. You can view those changes in the Changes tab.

Note: Change history will be shown only for the users imported from ServiceNow enterprise. Services created in Incident Response are new and without any previous history. Hence, the Changes tab will not show any information.


  1. Log in to Lightstep Incident Response.
  2. On the navigation pane, select Services.
    The Services landing page.
  3. Click the name of the service you want to edit.
    The service page appears.

  4. Click the Changes tab.
    You can view the change history of the service.

    Each change record has associated alert and incident. Find the change history of an alert under Alerts > Changes tab. Change history in alerts.
