Configure the webhook in Observium

Configure webhook endpoints so that Observium can use the endpoint to communicate with Incident Response.

Before you begin

Role required: Responder, Manager, or Administrator

  1. Log in to your Observium console.
  2. Navigate to Contacts and click Add Contact.
  3. In the Add New Contact form, fill in the fields:
    Field Description
    Transport Select Webhook.
    Description Description for the contact.
    URL Webhook URL copied from Incident Response.
    Add a new contact.
  4. Open the contact and select the alert checkers and syslog rules from the Associate Alert Checker list that you want to associate with the contact.

    Note: To receive recovery notifications, you must enable the Send recovery option for the alert checker. For detailed information, see Alert checker.
    Enable the Send recovery option.
  5. Click Save Changes.


Alerts will be created in Incident Responsefor the alert checkers and syslog rules that you associate with the contact.

What to do next

Closing an Observium alert

Observium doesn’t provide closing payload for Syslog alerts. To close these alerts, follow the steps given in Close an alert.
