Configure the webhook in NodePing

Configure webhook endpoints so that NodePing can use the endpoint to communicate with Incident Response.

Role required: Responder, Manager, or Administrator

  1. Log in to your NodePing application console.
  2. Navigate to Checks & Contacts > Contacts.
  3. Click Add new contact.
  4. In the Add a Contact dialog box, fill in these fields:
    Field Description
    Name Name for the contact.
    Address/Mobile Number for Notifications:
    1. From the drop-down list, select Webhook.
    2. Select the method as POST
    3. Enter the webhook you copied from Lightstep Incident Response.
    4. Select the Headers tab.
    5. Select Content-Type as the new key.
    6. Enter application/json as the value.
    7. Select the Body tab.
    8. Click RAW.
    9. Enter the payload you copied from Lightstep Incident Response.
    Add a contact in NodePing.
  5. Click Save.

What to do next

Add the contact with the webhook to the checks for which you want alerts created in Lightstep Incident Response.

  1. Navigate to Checks & Contacts > Checks.
  2. Create a new check or edit an existing one.
  3. Enter the parameters for the check. For detailed information about checks, see Managing Server Monitoring Checks.
  4. Under Notify, select the contact you created, which contains the webhook URL from Lightstep Incident Response.

    Add contact to notify.

  5. Click Save.

NodePing performs checks for the defined intervals and sends the information as alerts to Lightstep Incident Response.
