Promote an alert to an incident
Create an incident if you think the alert poses a serious issue and must be taken care of.
Before you begin
Ensure that the alert is open, acknowledged, not a child alert, and that no incident is associated with the alert.
Role required: Responder, Manager, or Administrator
- Access your instance using the Lightstep Incident Response mobile app.
On the tab bar, tap the alerts icon ().
Alerts appear as a list under the following tabs:
Tab Description My open List of all open alerts assigned to you or for which you are a part of the responder list. Unacknowledged List of all the unacknowledged alerts in your organization. All alerts List of all the alerts in the organization.Note: To view the details of an alert, tap the alert record.
Promote an alert in one of the following ways:
Option Action On the alert record On the alert record, swipe to the right and tap Promote to incident. From the alert details page
- Tap to open the alert.
- Tap the action icon ().
- From the action sheet, select Promote to incident.
On the confirmation dialog box, tap Yes to confirm that
you want to promote the alert to an incident.
The alert is promoted to a newly created incident. The Incident field on the alert is automatically filled with the new incident number.
