Configure the webhook in

Configure webhook endpoints so that can use the endpoint to communicate with Incident Response.

Role required: Responder, Manager, or Administrator

  1. Log in to your application console.
  2. Navigate to Tracing > Notification endpoints.
  3. Click Add endpoint.
  4. In the Add a new notification endpoint dialog box, fill in the form:
    Field Description
    Type From the endpoint type list, select Custom.
    Name Name for the notification endpoint.
    Description (optional) Description for the notification endpoint.
    URL Webhook URL copied from Incident Response.
    Method Select POST.
    Headers Leave the first field empty. In the field with the JSON payload, delete the existing content and paste the payload copied from Incident Response.

  5. Optional: To test the webhook connection between and Lightstep Incident Response, click Run the test.
    This sends a sample alert to Incident Response.
  6. Click Add a new endpoint.
    Add a notification endpoint.

What to do next

Add the notification endpoint to the alerts that you want Lightstep Incident Response to handle.
  1. Navigate to Logs > Alerts.
  2. Create a new alert or edit an existing one.
  3. Enter the conditions that will trigger the alert.
  4. From the Recipients list under Notify, select the notification endpoint you created, which contains the webhook URL from Lightstep Incident Response.
  5. Select JSON as the Output format.
  6. Click Save.
