Configure escalation of incidents to Jira

Configuration steps to escalate incidents from Incident Response to Jira.

Before you begin

Role required: Responder, Manager, or Administrator

Required: API token from Jira. For information on how to generate API tokens, see Manage API tokens for your Atlassian account.

Procedure

  1. Complete the steps given in Configure Jira integration.
  2. Keep the Escalate incidents to Jira toggle switch on.
  3. On the form, fill in the fields.
    Field Description
    Jira URL URL for your Jira instance.
    Username Username for your Jira instance.
    Jira API token API token from Atlassian.

    For information on how to generate API tokens, see Manage API tokens for your Atlassian account.

  4. Click Verify.

    On successful verification, you will be able to escalate incidents from Incident Response to Jira. Updates to these incidents are synchronized between Jira and Incident Response. See Escalate incidents to Jira.

    Verify escalate to Jira.
  5. Click Save.
    Note: If you don't want to escalate incidents from Incident Response to Jira, turn the Escalate incidents to Jira toggle switch off.
  6. If you must change the default priority or state mappings between Jira and Incident Response, select the Field mapping tab and make the mapping changes.
