Export your on-call schedules to your calendar application

Export and integrate your on-call schedules with calendar application such as Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook. The calendar is useful for anyone who needs to know when you are on call for any specific service.

Before you begin

Role required: Responder, Manager, or Administrator

About this task

To export your on-call schedules to your calendar application, you need to use Outlook or Google on the web.
Note: You can only export calendar events up to the next 60 days.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Lightstep Incident Response.
  2. Select the profile icon ( The Profile icon) and then select My profile.
    The Profile landing page from where you can easily create or update your profile information.
  3. Select the On-call schedule tab.
    Your on-call schedule.
  4. Click the share calendar icon (Share calendar icon.).
    Note: The calendar icon appears only when you have an on-call shift.
    A pop-up window appears.
    Synchronise your calendar.
  5. Synchronize your on-call shifts to your calendar using any one of the following options:
    Option Action to be taken
    WebCal feed If your calendar application supports iCalendar links, perform the following actions:
    1. From the Subscription URL field, copy the link.
    2. Paste the link in the calendar application.
    The WebCal protocol is used to transmit the link. You can get live updates from your schedule in your calendar without re-clicking the link.
    Note: Depending on the calendar application, the update can take time for changes to show in the calendar.
    iCalendar file If your calendar application supports an .ics file, perform the following actions:
    1. Click Download ICS file.
    2. Open the .ics file in your calendar application.
    Note: You need to download and import this file again if you make changes to your schedule. Depending on the calendar application, the update can take time for changes to show in the calendar.
  6. Click Close.

    Your on-call schedule is synchronized with your calendar.
