Configure the webhook in Lightstep Observability

Create a notification destination so that you can receive alerts in Incident Response.

Before you begin

Ensure you have generated a webhook endpoint for Lightstep Observability.

Role required: Responder, Manager, or Administrator

  1. Log in to Lightstep Observability.
  2. Select your project.
  3. From the navigation pane, click Alerts.
  4. Click the Notification destinations tab.

  5. Click Create a destination and select Webhook.

  6. In the Create a webhook destination form, fill in the fields:
    Field Description
    Name Name for the webhook destination.
    URL Webhook URL copied from LIR.
    Payload Template Select Lightstep Incident Response from the list.

  7. Click Create.
  8. Optional: To test the connection with LIR, from the list of destinations, click Test for the destination you have created.
    An alert is created in Incident Response.
  9. Click Close.
