Create an alert policy

Create an alert policy to associate with a notification channel. A policy is a group of one or more conditions.

Before you begin

Ensure you have created an account in New Relic.

Role required: Responder, Manager, or Administrator

Procedure

  1. Log in to the New Relic console.
    The New Relic homepage.
  2. Click the Alerts & AI tab.

  3. In the left navigation pane, click Policies.
    The policies option.
  4. On the policy index page, click New alert policy.
    Create new alert policy.

  5. On the Create alert policy form, enter the following information:
    • ALERT POLICY NAME: Enter a name for the alert policy.
    • INCIDENT PREFERENCE: Select incident preference to define when alerts create incidents and how violations are grouped.
  6. Click Create alert policy.
    The policy is created.
    Alert policy is created.
