Configure the webhook in Circonus

Configure webhook endpoints so that Circonus can use the endpoint to communicate with Incident Response.

  1. Log in to your Circonus application console.
  2. In the navigation pane, under the Alerts section, click Contact Groups.
    Create a new contact group.
  3. Click New to create a new contact group and fill in the fields.
    Field Description
    Group Name Name for the contact group.
    Group Type Select Standard.

  4. Open the contact group.
  5. Click Menu and select Add Member.
    Add a member to the contact group.
  6. In the Add Member dialog box, in the Add a New Contact field, paste the webhook URL copied from Incident Response.
  7. Append the query parameter format=json at the end of the webhook URL.

  8. Click Add.
    The contact type is displayed as the webhook URL with the method is selected as Web Hook.

  9. Click Add Members.
  10. Optional: To test your contact group, click Send Message from the Menu.
    Enter a message and click Ok. You will see a Success message in the contact group page and an alert is created in Incident Response with OK severity.
  11. Optional: You can also set reminders for alerts, for each alert severity (1 through 5), under the Reminders section and escalations to a different contact group, if the cause is not corrected or if the alert is not acknowledged under the Escalations section. For more information, see Configuring Contact Groups.

What to do next

Add the contact group to the rulesets or ruleset groups for which you want Lightstep Incident Response to handle the alerts.
