Configure escalation of incidents to Azure DevOps

Configuration steps to escalate incidents from Incident Response to Azure DevOps.

Before you begin

Role required: Responder, Manager, or Administrator

Required: Personal access token (PAT) from Azure DevOps. For information on how to generate PATs, see Create a PAT.

Procedure

  1. Complete the steps given in Configure Azure DevOps integration.
  2. Keep the Escalate incidents to Azure DevOps toggle switch on.
  3. On the form, fill in the fields.
    Field Description
    Azure URL URL for your Azure DevOps instance, including the organization name. For example, https://dev.azure.com/{organization_name}.
    Personal Access Token PAT from Azure DevOps.

    For information on how to generate API tokens, see Create a PAT.

  4. Click Verify.

    On successful verification, you will be able to escalate incidents from Incident Response to Azure DevOps. Updates to these incidents are synchronized between Azure DevOps and Incident Response. See Escalate incidents to Azure DevOps.

    Verify escalate to Azure DevOps.
  5. Click Save.
    Note: If you don't want to escalate incidents from Incident Response to Azure DevOps, turn the Escalate incidents to Azure DevOps toggle switch off.
  6. If you must change the default priority or state mappings between Azure DevOps and Incident Response, select the Field mapping tab and make the mapping changes.
