Add comments or work notes to an Incident Response incident

Add comments or work notes to an incident.

Before you begin

Role required:

Work notes: Responder, Manager, or Administrator

Comments: Responder, Manager, Stakeholder, or Administrator


  1. Log in to Incident Response.
  2. On the left navigation pane, click Incidents.
  3. Open the incident.
  4. From the Compose header, select Comments or Work notes (Private).
  5. Enter a comment or work note in the text box click Post Comments or Post Work notes (Private).
    The comment or work note is displayed in the Incident timeline activity stream content panel.

    Comments are visible to everyone in your account including stakeholders.

    Work notes are visible to any responder, manager, or administrator.
