There was a lot of buzz around OpenTelemetry at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2019KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2019 at the end of November, including a keynote speechkeynote speech by Liz Fong-Jones and Sarah Novotny, detailing the effective merger of OpenCensus and OpenTracing into OpenTelemetry, how users and vendors alike can focus on getting value out of their data rather than redundant and repetitive instrumentation efforts, and more.
